November 9, 2005
According to the election returns, all of 504's City Council candidates won, despite the Bloomberg "landslide."
These include newly elected Daniel Garodnick and Jessica Lappin in Manhattan and Jimmy Vacca in the Bronx. and incumbents Vincent Gentile (Brooklyn) and Tony Avilla (Queens), who had strong Republican challengers. They will be joined by our friends, newly elected Councilmembers Rosie Mendez and Inez Dinkins (both from Manhattan).
We expect that all of them will be strong allies, particularly in our efforts to attain wheelchair accessible taxis and livery vehicles.
- Marvin Wasserman
504 Democratic Club President
