You can use one of these surveys if you're heading to the polls and that you consider activating your volunteers and fellow staffers to do the survey as well.

Each voter will only do one of the surveys. Only those voting (you need to be enrolled in a party with a primary) can participate. The surveys are straightforward and designed to be easy to understand.

The first survey is for the majority of voters who will be showing up at their usual polling site and voting on the old lever machines. The second survey is for those voters who choose to vote on the new Ballot Markers being introduced at centralized locations in each county and borough of the state. [Link opens in a new window; You need to download the Adobe Reader to view this document in PDF format] In most parts of the state that means at the county or borough Board of Elections office from which you are registered.

The surveys aren't complex, and are easy to use. You just note down your own experiences at the polls when you go to vote - you won't be surveying other voters. The surveys will also allow [the people at ElectionWatch and NYPIRG] to follow-up in detail with individual voters who report problems. The information that the surveys provide will be valuable...noting what's working and perhaps, what's not. We'll use that info in advocacy efforts to see if we need to focus more on certain problems for the General Election.
